Bear Lake- Police continue to investigate the accident that claimed the life of a Prince George man last night.
At 5.20pm. Thursday, emergency personnel were called to the scene of an accident involving a tractor trailer and a service truck, at the 700 Road just south of Bear Lake.
The driver of the service truck was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver of the transport truck was taken to hospital in Prince George with non life threatening injuries.
The accident occurred when the commercial service truck travelling west on the 700 Rd. entered onto the highway into the path of the transport. The transport collided with the service truck in a perpendicular collision. The transport truck was loaded with empty metal storage containers.
Highway 97 was closed for several hours while police tried to piece together the accident.
As of 1.30am this morning workers were trying to remove the wreckage.
Road conditions, or drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
